About this experience
Embark on this epic 6-day Kilimanjaro Lemosho hiking adventure and enjoy thrilling scenic vistas and pristine wildlife on the way to the peak of Africa. This trail would be a great chice for regular hikers or fit travelers who are up to a challenge. Previous high-altitude experience would help to acclimate smoothly but is not mandatory.
You will cross several climatic zones (from heath on Shira Plateau to Arctic desert in the summit area), each different, unique and captivating.
Our professional climbing crews will take care of your safety and comfort. Overnight stays are in our walk-in tents (designed by us and customized for Kilimanjaro), the “kitchen” team will surprise you with their cooking skills, and the porters will carry all equipment. The guides will be leading your way, excitedly sharing their knowledge of this amazing Mount.
Pre and post-climb accommodation (included) will be in a hotel in the foothills of Kilimanjaro. Airport transfers included.

Planning perspective
How I’d plan this experience
A six-day Lemosho climb is a serious high-altitude trek, not simply a brisk hiking holiday with a summit at the end. I’d consider it if you’re a regular hiker, reasonably fit, and ready for several demanding days in changing conditions. The itinerary includes airport pickup, a hotel night before the climb, and mountain crew support, but those conveniences don’t remove the physical challenge or the need to prepare.
Who this route suits
The plan is aimed at fit travellers and regular hikers; previous altitude experience may help, but it isn’t required. The stated minimum is moderate physical fitness, and the climb is not recommended for people with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or poor cardiovascular health. I’d be candid with yourself about stamina and health rather than treating supportive guides as a substitute for being ready.
The practical appeal is the combination of a guided climb and a crew that handles camp equipment and meals. Traveller feedback repeatedly highlights attentive support and organization, which I think matters on a trek where the days are physically demanding. Still, good support can make the experience better managed, not effortless.
What six days means in practice
The climb is listed as 192 hours, with the itinerary beginning with an arrival day and hotel briefing before the mountain stages. On the first trekking day, the plan includes a roughly three-to-four-hour vehicle journey to the park entrance, then an off-road ride to the drop-off point and a walk to Shira 2 Camp. That first walk is described as moderate, but it takes you to high altitude; don’t mistake an easier opening hike for an easy overall climb.
At camp, tents and dinner are prepared by the crew. The itinerary also gives altitude-related guidance, including frequent water intake and avoiding alcohol and caffeine. I’d treat the early days as the start of acclimatization, not as spare time to push harder.
Choose it for the guided setup, not extra flexibility
This is a private tour, and the listed option is the six-day Lemosho climb with an English-speaking guide. The package includes airport pickup and drop-off, hotel stays, tents, and ground transportation; personal hiking gear is not included, though it is listed as available for hire. I’d choose this setup if you value having the main logistics organized and are comfortable bringing or arranging your own kit.
The trade-off is that the six-day format is a compressed commitment for a high-altitude objective. The itinerary shows a gradual start, but the supplied plan doesn’t establish that every climber will acclimatize comfortably or reach the summit. Traveller accounts speak warmly about crew care, while their positive outcomes shouldn’t be taken as a guarantee for your own climb.
Plan for what the package leaves out
Flights to Tanzania, visa fees, insurance, personal equipment, and optional crew tips are excluded. Hotel meals beyond breakfast are also excluded. My advice is to budget and prepare for these separately, especially trekking insurance that covers mountain activities and suitable clothing, boots, and sleeping gear. The listed hotel and mountain support can simplify the logistics, but they don’t cover every part of the trip.
